How To Use Short Story Idea Generator

Step 1: Select Story Genre

Choose your preferred narrative genre from the dropdown menu, establishing the fundamental style and conventions for your generated story ideas.

Step 2: Choose Story Setting

Select the temporal or physical setting for your story from the second dropdown menu, defining the world in which your narrative will take place.

Step 3: Add Specific Elements

Enter any particular characters, themes, or plot elements you’d like to include in your story in the “Additional Elements” text field. For example: “a mysterious stranger, betrayal, hidden treasure, environmental themes.”

Step 4: Refine Your Parameters

Use the “Refine with AI” button to enhance your specified elements with additional complementary narrative components if desired.

Step 5: Optional Concept Image

Check the “Generate concept image” box if you’d like a visual representation to accompany your story idea.

Step 6: Generate Ideas

Click the purple “Generate Story Ideas” button to create multiple unique story concepts based on your selected parameters.

The tool also provides inspiration with example story ideas at the bottom of the screen, such as “A time traveler who can only go back 24 hours struggles to prevent a disaster” and “Two strangers keep meeting in their dreams but have never met in real life.”
